Did you ever try playing chess? Chess is a game of skill played by two persons in a checkered board divided into 64 squares, with 16 pieces on each side. The aim of each player, proceeding by alternate moves, is to checkmate his opponent's king.
I saw my father and sister playing chess one time and since I was doing nothing, I watched. I got interested in the game as I watched them. They taught me the names of each piece (king, queen, bishop, knight, rook, pawn) and they also showed me how to move each piece. I didn't play immediately, I just observed how to play the game.
During those days, many of my classmates were playing chess in our school. I learned many things by watching and asking them questions. I began to play too but not often and most of the time I was not lucky enough to win.I wasn't discouraged though for I knew I was just a beginner and I still wanted to play. Whenever I play chess with someone, I often lose in the game so my interest started to diminish.
If I see people playing chess, I sometimes watch and reluctant to play if I'm asked. Right now, I still remember how to play chess but I'm not good in it.

ReplyDeleteLet me tell you something, don't stop playing. I understand how you feel because if your experience is with chess then mine is in the piano. When I lost my interest in playing the piano I really regretted it. Now, I don't even know how to play because i forgot how to. Don't re-echo my mistakes, ok?
